State!

They lost 30-36 against Brighton but they did a great job! Mike's brother, Dave surprised him by coming to watch too. It was pretty special having the whole family there to help cheer them on! :) On a funny note, Luke had to go potty...and he has an issue with whether or not his bum is clean after he "goes". So I stood on the stairs between the stands watching the meet while he ran to go potty, which was straight from where I was.....in comes Luke with his pants down to his knees at the Kellogg Arena. He bends over and says Mommy is my butt clean!!!!! I am totally not joking! I thought I was going to die, but thanks to Carl Nystrom's match being a real nail biter no one else seemed to notice. Phew!!!!

GOING TO STATE!!!!!

Tonight Mike's wrestlers battled and beat Rockford and then Grand Haven to advance to the State Championships. We were all so super excited!!! And this time all my kids were helping roll mats with the Rockford guys.

District CHAMPS!!!

Tonight Mike's team beat Jenison and Granville to win the District title and advance to regionals. We were so excited for them. Jake fell goofing off with some of the JV wrestlers, so we had to find a trainer to help us with a HUGE scrape on his back ;( Then after the meet was done, Luke helped the Grandville kids roll up their mats....thankfully they were all very nice to him!

Jakey TURNS 6!!!!

I can not believe he is already 6!!!! Jake has to share his birthday with wrestling so parties for him are difficult, since I work every weekend and Mike is gone every Saturday. We had a nice little family celebration and plan to have an actual party for him in midMarch when all the wrestling is done! :)

Hudsonville BEATS Rockford!!!

Mike's wrestling team has been doing amazing this year, we are hoping to make a run for Team State. One big thorn in the side has been the inability to beat Rockford. They did it tonight in the tiny, very outdated auxiliary gym at Hudsonville. It was fun! (well for us Hudsonville Rottier's). Dan coaches at Rockford so it wasn't so fun for them, sorry!!!!

Woah, we got a BLIZZARD!

We had an amazing blizzard go though last night and today. We got so much snow that stuff was shut down for a day or two. The kids had a blast...Mike? Not so much! It was a neighborhood effort to dig our street out as we knew the road commission wouldn't get to us for a while! :)

The Frustrations of Illnesses

As I said in the last post, we have been fighting illnesses for quite a while. I had to bring Jake in yesterday for a temp of over 105. The dr's office sent us to the hospital for more tests. It is a very frustrating and helpless feeling to watch your child suffer and not be able to make it go away.

Daddy's wrestling season is in full swing

We enjoy going to cheer Mike and his team on. This has been a very hard season for our kids. We have been fighting illness after illness since November 22. We have missed a lot of the matches but it doesn't stop us from getting to as many as we can! Tonight I had a babysitter for Jake (who is home with a 104 temp, again!) Anna went to AWANA and Luke came to the match with me....and Mike coached with the flu. It is hitting our house hard this year. We are very anxious for all this "illness" to leave!!

All pretty for church

I couldn't help but get a picture before they left for church. Aren't they cute? Side note, we got Luke's hair "buzzed" this week and Jake cried so hard as it was happening! It was sort of humorous to witness. Needless to say, I am not allowed to get Luke's hair done like this again, too much trama in the family!

Jake's first MYWA Tournament

Jake competed in his first tournament this year (and only one this year) at Belding HS. He did a great job and placed 3rd out of 5. We were very proud of him, he was pretty excited too!!!

The Rottier Cousins

This is as good as I could do this year....they are just growing up too fast and have very independent personalities!!!

Christmas Morning

Santa emailed the kids a video this year, after each of them told me what they wanted most from him. He delivered what he said he would bring. They were thrilled! Happy Birthday Baby Jesus!

Christmas Eve

I guess actually it was Christmas morning since it was just a bit after midnight. Here is what the kids will wake up to! Anna woke up at 3 am (thankfully didn't look at the tree, came up to tell us she was lonley...awww) Luke was up about 4 times throughout the night for various unknowns. It was a battle to keep them from seeing it. Finally, around 6:40 we heard Luke whisper "Santa came". It was very sweet. So, I guess it was time to get up!

Rottier Family Christmas

We had an absolute blast together as a family. The kids are at the ages where everyone plays so well together. It was a real special time spent together.
